Alexa Dark

Alternative / Indie

Cinematic yet captivatingly intimate with mysterious, old soul sensibility, Alexa Dark is a singer songwriter and guitarist raised between Barcelona, Munich, London, and NYC. Drawing inspiration from her multicultural upbringing and eclectic music taste (from Nancy Sinatra to Portishead), as well as her love for French New Wave cinema, Dark began writing her own songs and poetry in her early teenage years. She quickly took this to the stage, where she began performing live in London, both solo with her acoustic guitar and in different bands. It was here that Dark honed her artistic direction and arrived at her unique sound and presence. Dark moved to NYC, where she became involved in the downtown music scene and began working on new material. She wrote and recorded her debut song “Fade to Black and Blue,” followed by “Blind Faith,” nd her latest single “Vertigo” with producer Matt Chiaravalle (Debbie Harry, Warren Zevon), mastered by Grammy-award winner Emily Lazar (Beck, Haim) and Grammy-nominated Joe Lambert (Angel Olsen, The National). With over 150,000 streams on her debut single “Fade to Black and Blue,” features on Apple Music’s New in Rock and New in Alternative playlist, as well as publications Earmilk, She Shreds, Blackbook, and Story+Rain’s “Her Life is Her Art,” and a debut EP released in the beginning of 2022, Dark’s authentic lyricism and distinctive musical production makes her an up-and-coming artist to watch.
